Home Additions
More room. A home that still feels like yours.
When your family, routines or space needs change, a well-planned addition can make the home you already love work better. The goal is more than extra square footage: it is comfortable circulation, usable rooms and a connection that looks and feels intentional. MBrickz reviews the existing home and the proposed expansion together. The photo above features real residential exterior work from our portfolio.
How we plan and build your addition
01 / Define the space you need
We start with what is missing: a larger living area, another bedroom, a primary suite or space for changing household needs. We discuss the proposed size, budget, timing and whether you plan to stay in the home during construction.
02 / Review the existing home
Access, the existing foundation, framing, roofline and utility locations all influence an addition. We review visible conditions and identify where drawings, engineering or further investigation are needed before the connection and scope can be finalized.
03 / Plan a thoughtful connection
Room layout, doorways, circulation and exterior proportions are considered together. The roof, siding or brickwork, windows and trim need coordinated details. We review material selections and explain where matching existing finishes may have limitations.
04 / Scope, approvals & preparation
The proposal defines the work, allowances, exclusions and payment milestones. Permit responsibilities and required inspections are confirmed. We plan deliveries, work areas, temporary protection and access so you know how construction will affect daily life.
05 / Foundation, structure & enclosure
The agreed foundation and framing work establish the new space. Roof connections, windows, doors and exterior finishes follow in a coordinated sequence. Particular attention goes to weather protection and the transition between the original building and the addition.
06 / Connect systems & finish the rooms
Electrical, plumbing and heating or cooling needs are coordinated with the new layout. Insulation, drywall, flooring and finish details follow the approved scope. Any proposed changes and their cost or timing implications are discussed before additional work proceeds.
07 / Walkthrough & final details
We review the completed addition with you, check the agreed scope and identify punch-list items. Required final inspections and remaining closeout information are coordinated. The aim is a useful new space that connects naturally with your existing home.
